Hello friends,
If you know me, you know I am a huge advocate for artists and makers. I believe a home should be filled with art and objects that speak to you, your experiences, your taste.
The thing is, finding art you connect with can feel weirdly intimidating. Where do you even start? What if your taste isn't "right"? I love the idea that there's no wrong answer, just what speaks to you, and that's what drew me to this week's guest curator.
Meet Devika.

Devika Sarin is the founder of soal, a daily art discovery app for the culturally curious. She's building something that makes art feel accessible and joyful while helping you connect with your own taste.
“I'm passionate about helping people access joy, meaning and creativity every day. I love being in nature, learning new things and finding the magic in life. I've had a squiggly path through finance, consulting, an MBA, art and startups.”
I asked Devika to share prints from artists she's most excited about right now, and her picks are stunning. Below are six of my favorites, but you can see them all in her Prints I Love collection on hili.
Let’s eat.

✨ Community hilight:
Art that sparks curiosity and quiet reflection
Every piece here was chosen to make you pause and look again. Devika curates art that opens a door, not art that matches your couch.
The Man I Met at a Bar | Lolita Pelegrime
“Lolita Pelegrime is another artist who skillfully captures the essence of a person while creating a sense of familiarity. Her work focuses on women you might know (and for her, that is true because they are her friends).”
Vaivén Print | Gisela Lazarte
“Gisela is one of my favorites. She recently started adding prints to her offerings which is exciting. Her use of color and her works are so dreamy and perfect for so many moods. You can find her on the soal app :)”
Untitled, 2024 | Studio IMO
“I love Ibi's story. In 2024 at the age of 43 she felt the call to get some acrylic paints, and shortly after sold out of her first collection of works. She draws inspiration from her British Nigerian identity, and explores themes related to human connection and solitude.”
Swan Lady 3 | Studio Vreeken
“I have an original from artist Sharon Vreeken on my wish list, but in the meantime her prints are amazing too!”
One of These Days | Riona Buthello
“Riona often announces print drops of her paintings. She has a way of tapping into nostalgia while capturing these blurry viewpoints across the ocean, windows, Christmas, etc.”
Blomst 01 - Blue | Uffe Buchard
“The colors alone of Uffe's photography prints are enough to stop you.”

Here are a few things that have caught my attention this week:
🏡 I want to go on a road trip and explore all of the spots on this list of the best Midwest small towns from Midwest Living.
👕 This might be the perfect t-shirt. A little cropped, slightly oversized in the best possible way. I bought it in 2 colors (bone and warm gray) and may go back for more if there is a sale.
🌮 I was visiting my sister and she made Crunchwrap Casserole for dinner and it was delicious! It was from one of her favorite cookbooks, Every Day with Babs. It looked easy enough to make on a weeknight and there were plenty of leftovers.
