Edition #18 | A Basket Worth Filling

Hello friends,

Spring has this way of making everyone want to do something nice for someone. Maybe it's the longer days. Maybe it's that we've all been inside too long and are finally remembering other people exist.

For a lot of families, this time of year comes with Easter baskets to fill, but I think spring provides an opportunity for all of us to tuck something small into the hands of someone we love.

What I've noticed is that filling an Easter basket usually goes one of two ways. You end up at the drugstore grabbing a bag of jelly beans and some plastic grass at 9pm, or you fall down a rabbit hole on Amazon and end up with things no one will remember in a week.

This year I wanted to go a different direction. I wanted to highlight meaningful gifts from small shops and indie makers. Small, thoughtful, and the kind of things that stick around long after the plastic grass is swept off the floor.

👩‍💻 I am a designer by trade and am endlessly inspired by graphic design of all time periods. Here is a collection of work from the 90s that certainly seems to have inspired a lot of what is currently popular.

🍾 As I sit here writing this newsletter I am sipping a glass of Mumm Sparkling Rose. My husband and I discovered it when we visited Napa many years ago and went on a tour of their winery. If you are looking for refreshing bubbles that are not too sweet, Mumm is for you.
