From our community to your inbox, we trace what's worth discovering—the finds, voices, and recommendations shaping how we choose.

Hello friends,

This week we're trying something new. Instead of pulling recs from across the community, we're putting the spotlight on one person and one collection that perfectly captures something I think about a lot: the quiet power of upgrading the stuff you use every single day.

Meet Kt.

Kt is a community builder, artist and founder turned VC. They love diving down new rabbit holes and connecting dots for people, so using hili is a no-brainer to share their recommendations. Their "Better Basics" collection on hili is full of the everyday essentials that seem small but can completely change how your day feels.

Here's what I love about Kt’s collection: we spend so much time researching the big purchases, but the things we reach for ten times a day? The cutting board, the paper towels, the bandage you grab when you nick your finger? Those tend to get zero thought. Kt's collection is a reminder that the small stuff deserves intention, too.

Let's upgrade the basics.

Community hilight: Kt's Better Basics

Kt's philosophy is simple: the things you use most often should be the things you love most. Here are some favorites from their collection that prove the point.

Boos Block cutting board | $134
“Toss those plastic cutting boards and invest in something that will last and last and last — and won't put more microplastics into your diet!

These babies are substantial, beautiful and can truly last a lifetime.

All Better Co.’s Better Bandage | $10
“Compostable. Latex free. No forever chemicals. Packaging that doesn't spill over your first aid kit/medicine cabinet. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM A BANDAGE?!?!

Momofuku Goods’ Tingly Chili Noodles | $12
“"Instant" ramen but better. Add whatever veg or protein you have on hand and BOOM a nice, fast lunch that doesn't remind you of broke college days.

Bambooee Paper Towels | $12
“Switched to these more sustainable paper towels almost a decade ago and never going back. They last forever (compared to other brands that dissolve after wash 3), absorb well and are super soft.

Baleen Tiny Circle Nap Studs | $54
“So many cool styles from this Seattle brand, but this super simple basics are high quality for a reasonable price and the flat backs are a core basic that you can leave in forever.

Le Bon Shoppe Boyfriend Socks | $14
“Soft but not slouchy, fun colors, simple but done extremely well.

Here are a few things that have caught my attention this week:

🧘 My friend Holly just launched Rooted Retreats and the first one is happening March 8th at Brooklyn Grange in NYC. It's a one-day wellness retreat focused on restoration—movement, gardening, mindfulness, and nourishing food. If you're in the New York area and running on empty, this looks like exactly the kind of intentional pause we all need.

📷 Architectural Digest published a gorgeous gallery of photos of the Beatles at home and I am absolutely here for it. There's something so fascinating about seeing these larger-than-life figures in their most ordinary spaces. Also, their interiors were surprisingly good.

📐 This 3-in-1 titanium calculating ring ruler on Kickstarter has me completely mesmerized. It measures, converts units, and calculates—all in a tiny titanium ring you can wear on a lanyard. It even has a satisfying magnetic click that doubles as a fidget toy. Is it necessary? Probably not. Am I impressed? Absolutely.

📱 hili is on Instagram!

Follow along as our intern, Campbell, and I take you behind the scenes and share all the good stuff from hili (including our baby pics 😆). Come hang out with us!

👯‍♀️ Help grow the hili community!

This edition is a perfect example of why hili gets better when more of your people are here. Kt didn't just save these recs for herself—she shared them so the rest of us could upgrade our basics, too. That's the whole idea. The more people you trust are sharing what they love, the better discovery gets for everyone.
